Properties
Iodoform Gauze is an absorbent fabric used to pack wounds and facilitate blood clotting and general healing. Its material is identical to standard medical gauze except that it has been soaked in iodoform, an antiseptic. Iodoform Gauze is a mild analgesic which acts as an antiseptic agent. When reacting with wound secretions and fatty acids, the Iodoform frees Iodine to generate, by combination with proteinic substances, an active germicide.
Gauze is impregneated either with 5%, or 10% of Iodoform solution.
